Your new position
As Director, External Communications, you will lead Zealand Pharma’s global external communications, shaping how the company shows up across earned, owned, and trade media. The role focuses on showcasing our pipeline and corporate narrative, elevating executive visibility, and orchestrating a cohesive news flow and editorial plan. The role is based at Zealand Pharma’s headquarters in Denmark. You will report to the VP of Corporate Communications & Media Relations and work across the organization to ensure clear, consistent storytelling.
We offer exciting responsibilities:
- Lead the global external communications strategy across earned, owned (e.g., LinkedIn), and trade media
- Develop and manage the company’s news flow and editorial calendar to drive consistent storytelling
- Drive executive visibility and thought leadership programs, including content for corporate management
- Translate pipeline milestones and regulatory approvals into compelling, compliant narratives
- Create briefing materials, messaging frameworks, and Q&As
- Lead issues and crisis communications preparedness and response in partnership with relevant functions
Your profile
A strategic, hands-on communications professional who connects the dots across functions and turns complex science into accessible narratives. Thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment, brings global perspective, and is comfortable advising senior leaders. Skilled at balancing proactive planning with agile execution.
- Several years of experience in corporate/external communications in pharma/biotech (global/multinational experience)
- Proven media relations track record, including US biotech/health media and EU health/trade media
- Strong experience in product/pipeline and regulatory communications
- Expertise in social media strategy and content for corporate channels and executives
- Strong editorial planning, campaign development, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; Danish a plus
Your new team
This role sits within the Corporate Communications & Media Relations team and reports to the VP of Corporate Communications & Media Relations. The team partners closely with IR, Development, Medical, Legal, P&O, and additional functions to ensure coherent storytelling and effective engagement with media, investors, employees, partners, and other stakeholders.
