Nordetect is on a mission to improve how chemicals are used in the food chain. We are a DeepTech company that produces Lab-on-a-chip devices and data analysis software for environmental and agricultural testing. Our products enable farm managers, greenhouse growers, and vertical farmers to reduce risk and ensure richer harvests by leveraging data that is easy to understand and implement.
We're in the process of growing our customer base and are looking for new members to join us on this mission.
In your role as an R&D scientist, you will mainly focus on the formulation of sensors, data analysis and statistical modeling, along with benchmarking and validation experiments. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team with colleagues with Machine Learning, Nanotechnology, and Hardware development backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the development and optimization of colorimetric/fluorimetric assays, ensuring performance and reproducibility
- Develop robust methods for immobilizing assays on substrates, followed by rigorous validation.
- Scale up immobilization processes to lab-scale production, maintaining quality and stability.
- Validate produced components using analytical methods, such as UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges in assay performance and fabrication, proposing innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Self-starter and motivated to perform hands-on research in assay development, sensor fabrication, or analytical chemistry.
- Hands-on experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy or similar spectrophotometric methods for assay validation.
- An interest in surface chemistry and substrate functionalization.
- Proficiency in data analysis in Excel for quality evaluation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.

Furthermore, you are legally allowed to reside and work in Denmark and do not need to relocate for this position.
