Position overview
As we head into the clinical development stage, Adcendo is seeking a Research Senior Scientist to join our preclinical team with the main responsibility for exploring the mode of action of novel ADC targets and evaluating combination treatment opportunities in vitro and in vivo.
This position requires a strong scientific background and in-depth understanding of molecular cancer research, cancer biology and oncology.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Based on a strong understanding of cancer biology to explore the mode of action of novel ADC targets, support identification of most promising indications and model systems and designing experiments for testing of ADC combination therapies
- Working with Adcendo Head of Molecular Oncology and preclinical colleagues to define and execute strategies for evaluating MoAs and testing combinations of ADCs with other therapies (cell lines, in vivo xenograft models, etc.)
- Work with external preclinical CROs as needed/relevant
- Active communication of results with the preclinical team and beyond, including to senior management, to support ongoing project development
- Patent support and publication of relevant data (scientific conferences and/or journals) as needed
- Author and review appropriate preclinical sections of regulatory documents (IND, IB etc.)
- The position resides within Adcendo’s preclinical department, which currently counts more than 15 employees (scientists and technicians) spanning across research, preclinical pharmacology, PK and non-clinical safety. The candidate will report to the Head of Molecular Oncology.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a strong background in cancer biology and experience in designing, applying and performing relevant in vitro and in vivo studies. The responsibility area spans across projects so good organizational skills, quick decision-making, and adaptability while ensuring meticulous attention to detail across a wide range of tasks are important prerequisites.
The ideal candidate has
- A relevant education and PhD/postdoc background within cancer biology/cancer research and +3 years of experience from a similar position in pharma/biotech
- Broad understanding of cancer biology, cancer signaling pathways, immune-oncology and targeted treatments
- Strong experience in systematically developing, setting up and performing cell based in vitro assays and combinatorial screenings (i.e. cytotoxicity assays, incucyte or alike)
- Experience in setting up and performing in vivo efficacy studies hands on and in collaboration with external CROs

Other details
- The position is full-time with expected on-site presence at our Copenhagen offices
- Less than 1 week of travel per year is expected
