Are you a strategic leader who still loves getting technical? We're looking for someone who can define the future of enterprise IT infrastructure & Operations at Zealand Pharma while having the technical depth to guide teams through complex challenges. If you've scaled Infrastructure & Operations in regulated environments and you're ready to drive both strategy and execution in a global biotech, let's talk.
Your new position
You will lead the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) function within the IT department, owning the design, implementation, and support of enterprise IT infrastructure and related operations. You will set the mission, vision, and strategy for I&O and align the roadmap to business outcomes. You'll partner deeply with IT teams on architectural decisions, and balance strategic discussions with IT leadership alongside hands-on technical design reviews.
You will build and lead a high-performing I&O organization, creating a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence while remaining hands-on with your teams.
Your teams will deliver reliable, scalable services and contribute to the company's enterprise-wide IT strategy, with a focus on Microsoft cloud environments and GxP-compliant operations. You'll collaborate closely with other IT leaders to ensure that our secure and resilient infrastructure enables our IT strategic priorities.
We offer exciting responsibilities:
- Drive I&O strategy and roadmap, linking targeted business outcomes to future-state capabilities and enabling technologies.
- Your teams will own the core IT infrastructure and services across the enterprise, including Microsoft cloud environments.
- Ensure reliable 24/7 operations through robust and resilient architecture and a scalable resourcing model (employees, contractors, and managed service providers).
- Establish and monitor effective controls and governance for I&O processes; support periodic audits and GxP compliance reviews.
- Collaborate with IT leadership on IT strategy, portfolio management, prioritization, and budgeting to maximize business value.
- Assess and introduce emerging technologies that enhance competitive capabilities and improve employee productivity.
- Create an environment where your team members thrive, mentor future leaders, and foster a culture of innovation balanced with operational discipline.
Your profile
You are a collaborative, forward-looking leader who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and knows how to build teams that deliver. Brings a strong governance mindset and a passion for reliability, security, and continuous improvement. You inspire and develop people, creating psychological safety while driving accountability. Finally, you thrive in a changing environment and build trusted relationships across IT, the business, and your teams.
- Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale infrastructure and operations teams and services.
- Proven ability to develop and execute infrastructure strategies and roadmaps aligned to business outcomes.
- Deep understanding of core infrastructure domains, including compute, network, workplace, identity, security, and cloud—with hands-on leadership in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Track record ensuring 24/7 operational reliability, including incident, ITIL, and change management practices.
- Experience establishing controls, supporting audits, and operating within GxP or similar regulated compliance frameworks.
- Strong vendor and managed services leadership; portfolio, budget, and performance management skills.
- Track record building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing infrastructure teams; skilled at creating team cohesion across diverse technical disciplines.
