The Lundbeck Foundation is an enterprise foundation whose purpose is to create powerful ripple effects that bring discoveries to lives through investing actively in business and science at the frontiers of their fields. In 2024 we granted over DKK 1 billion to biomedical and health science research – focusing mainly on the brain.
As part of our philanthropic activities, in 2011 we established The Brain Prize, the world’s largest prize for neuroscience (https://brainprize.org/), and in 2022 we launched Neurotorium, an open-access educational platform in Neurology and Psychiatry (https://neurotorium.org/).
We are seeking a strategically minded, data-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role is well-suited for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic, self-directed environment, with the ability to take ownership of digital communication strategy and analysis.
You will develop and optimize, using data-driven insights, digital marketing strategies to raise awareness and engagement with online digital content and activities developed for Neurotorium and The Brain Prize. You will play a central role in ensuring the visibility, accessibility, and impact of our activities and online content. You will also work with the Neurotorium and Brain Prize teams to initiate and guide new ideas that strengthen our online presence, user engagement and experience.
The role requires that the candidate works across two major departments within the Lundbeck Foundation, Grants and Prizes, that drives the Foundation’s philanthropic activities (including Neurotorium and The Brain Prize) and the communications team within Corporate Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
· Collect, analyse, and interpret datasets from web analytics, social media, and email campaigns to inform strategy, identify trends, and generate audience insights with the goal of improving online presence and impact
· Monitor trends and continuously recommend optimisations to the website and marketing practices based on analytical insights.
· Create and maintain detailed reports that clearly visualise performance metrics, insights, and conclusions. Make data-driven recommendations to improve awareness and user experience.
· Assist in landscape analyses and deepen audience understanding to support strategic planning and content development.
· Develop digital marketing campaigns and initiatives to improve the discoverability of content and activities across both neurotorium.org and brainprize.org.
Prerequisites
To succeed in this role, you will need a combination of strong analytical skills, self-motivation, organizational skills, and innovative thinking surrounding new and emerging trends within marketing. The ideal candidate is proactive and capable of structuring their own workflows while also engaging thoughtfully with a collaborative team.
Required:
- Extensive previous experience (5 years minimum) in a data-driven digital marketing role.
- Demonstrated ability to independently strategize, analyse, and assess digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in analytical tools (such as Excel, SQL, R etc.).
- Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Ability to identify problems and opportunities through data analysis and develop effective solutions.
- Solid understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics, including SEO, SEM, social media, direct and content marketing.
- Proficiency in content strategy development, including calendar planning and coordination of multi-channel campaigns.
- Fluent English with excellent written communication skills that are appropriate for our target audiences.
Advantageous:
- Familiarity with website CMS – preferably WordPress and Drupal. An interest in neuroscience and related fields.
