Currently, we are looking for a new team manager, who is ready to lead a group of scientists and technicians, and the work with and development of our in vitro screening assays. We are seeking a Team manager to join the Department of Molecular Pharmacology. Our department includes 10 scientists, and 7 technologists dedicated to advancing our research and development projects through the generation of in vitro and biomarker data. We are organized in two teams, to ensure close manager support and scientific leadership.
As a department we all work together and use a range of molecular biology methodologies, biochemical and cellular assays to support the identification and optimization of our drug candidates. To build our future pipeline, we are also important in the identification, maturation, and initiation of new projects.
In this position, you will have dual responsibilities as a manager and a scientist. As a manager, your role is to lead and develop a group of 7-10, while making sure the resources, priorities and science direction in the department are aligned within the manager team. As a scientist you are an integral part of our research organization, taking part in progressing the projects and anchoring the in vitro data package.

Responsibilities
In this role you have the responsibility and opportunity to develop and progress our pipeline
- Manage a team of scientists and technologists, making sure that the priorities, resources and direction are aligned in the department and with the Zealand goals.
- Work with CROs, the department scientists, and technologists to facilitate and prioritize everyday tasks, identify and implement new assays/technologies, deliver data, conclusions and recommendations to our research and development projects.
- Take part in identification, maturation, and/or evaluation of new project ideas.
- Represent the department on a research/development project, providing input to the project concept, science, and plans, as well as overseeing these plans in the department.
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone who has most or all of the below qualifications:
- A PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology, or a related field with 8+ years of experience with biomedical research or drug discovery
- A genuine desire to work with leadership and preferably previous experience with management of a small department or team
- Experience receptor-based cellular assays and in vitro data
- Previous knowledge on collaboration with CROs.
- A good balance between high level overview and an eye for details when needed
- Experience with data management systems
- A mindset in line with the Zealand values
- Positive attitude, drive, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
