Currently, we are looking for a new (Senior) Medical Director Obesity to join our Medical Affairs division and support our growth journey. Medical Affairs provides medical leadership with market preparation and partnership engagement on all Zealand Pharma products and therapies and supports our internal stakeholders with medical insight and expertise. Medical Affairs aims to lead Zealand in achieving scientific leadership, being a great place to work, and keeping patients at the core of everything we do.
We are a medium-sized biotech with a short chain of command. We are currently a team of 12 (10 based in DK and 2 in the US), reporting to the Head of Medical Affairs, and we are looking for the right colleague to add additional competencies the team. The position will be based in Søborg, Denmark.

Job Profile
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and managing the implementation of the medical affairs plan
- Cross-functional collaboration within R&D and other internal functions
- Following medical developments within therapy area, and disseminating new information to educate and inform the organization
- Liaising with the internal and external medical/scientific community
- Representing Medical Affairs at project Core Teams in a project centric organization
- Accountable for engaging and cultivating relationships with leading global KOLs, e.g., to gain contribution/ participation in advisory boards, greater understanding of the therapeutic area, insights into unmet patient needs, etc.
- Working with relevant prof. societies and patient organization
- Facilitating incoming grants and IIT requests for discussion and approval
- Contributing with relevant scientific input with partners and in the Business development
- Representing Zealand at scientific and medical forums, e.g., medical education symposia, scientific exchange meetings, congresses, etc.
- Closely collaborating with and supporting our Chief Medical Officer
Candidate Profile
- The successful candidate will have most of the below qualifications:
Experience
- Established industry experience
- Training in Obesity is strongly preferred
- Experience in Medical Affairs and working cross-functionally across a product team
- Experience developing medical plans for the approval/launch of new products
Education
- MD or equivalent background
Personal qualifications
- Demonstrated strategic and medical leadership ability
- Ability to deliver results and impactful new initiatives in a matrix environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers and leadership
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver medical presentations
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external colleagues in various geographies, cultures, and roles
- Appreciation of the evolving Medical Affairs space
- Strong analytical mind-set, able to quickly assess large amounts of information, and to distil into key messages and actions
- Team player, patient focused, commercially aware
- Integrity and high ethical standards
