Then we may have the perfect opportunity at the BII, where we are seeking a Deeptech Funding Specialist to join the Venture Creation department within the Quantum team. The position is a Principal position.

Established by the Novo Nordisk Foundation in 2018, BII promotes collaborative, interdisciplinary, research-based innovation in Human Health, Planetary Health and Quantum and helps build viable start-up companies to ensure that such innovations become widely available for the benefit of people and society.
As a Deeptech Funding Specialist in the Quantum team, you will be part of a small team committed to selecting and supporting quantum technology ventures. In this role, you will be working closely with our portfolio of startups to develop their fundraising strategies and support their interactions with potential investors and other funding sources. You will also be responsible for developing our network of investors, both in Denmark, EU and globally.
You will be part of our processes of scouting and screening startups for the BII Venture Lab program, and our activities during the program to educate and support our portfolio of startups on how to secure the necessary funding to fuel their companies.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
1. Anchoring
- Work closely with the founder teams to develop their funding strategy and their commercialization roadmaps.
2. Partnerships and Ecosystem Building
- Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders across the innovation ecosystem — primarily investors and public funding bodies, but also industrial partners and research institutions.
- Represent BII at relevant conferences, events, and networks within quantum technology.
3. Screening, scouting and supporting
- Support the evaluation of incoming applications within the quantum area in terms of fundability.
- Engage with founders and research teams to assess technological maturity, business potential, and alignment with BII’s offerings prior to their application.
- Participate in BII program activities related to startup funding.
Professional & Personal Qualifications
We seek a colleague with an investor and entrepreneurial mindset who is curious about emerging technologies and passionate about translating science into viable businesses. Besides being purpose-driven and motivated by contributing to a non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing science to life, we imagine that you bring the following competencies and skills:
- First hand experience of securing funding for deeptech startups
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- A strong network within venture capital, funding agencies and the DK/EU deeptech ecosystem
- A passion for technology and startups, and experience with advising/mentoring startups
- Strong analytical skills and ability to assess both technical and commercial potential of early-stage innovations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and a natural networker. Proficiency in Danish is a plus.
- A team player with a collaborative and relationship-driven approach.
- Structured, independent, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams.
