This position is remote or on-site in Copenhagen
SimplerQMS is on a mission to empower life science teams to bring life-saving products to market. Our integrated quality management platform helps innovative biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies streamline compliance, manage documents, and automate quality processes.
We focus on giving start-ups and medium-sized enterprises tools that help them compete with larger players, from document control and training to changes, quality events, audits, and risk management.
As a fast-growing, remote-first company, we hire for talent and mission alignment, not location. We’re expanding our product team and looking for a QA Engineer who enjoys working close to product development and wants to raise quality through strong testing practices and reliable automation.
Join Our Team
We’re hiring a QA Engineer for our newly launched platform. The position is remote or on-site in Copenhagen. You’ll report to our CTO and work closely with your cross-functional team (Design, Engineering, Product Management, Regulatory QA, Customer Success, and Product Marketing).
This role sits within the Product team for our newly launched platform. As a QA Engineer at SimplerQMS, you’ll be part of the full development cycle, helping the team ship changes safely and confidently. You will work on development testing, review pull requests from a quality perspective, and build automated end-to-end test coverage. Your focus will be to prevent regressions, improve test reliability, and make quality a shared responsibility in the team.
Your work will also serve as an important input to our design control process and the validation activities owned by our Regulatory QA team, supporting customers’ compliance requirements toward ISO 13485.
What You Will Do:
- Being an active part of the development process: joining planning, reviews, and testing changes as they are built
- Reviewing pull requests with a QA mindset and collaborating with engineers on test approach and coverage
- Designing, writing, and maintaining automated end-to-end tests.
- Building test scenarios that reflect real customer workflows and risk areas
- Prioritizing test coverage and execution based on product and customer risk
- Running exploratory and regression testing for new releases and key areas
- Keeping visibility into production deployments and release quality, and helping the team detect and respond to issues early
- Keeping track of bugs/issues, supporting triage, and helping prioritize fixes with the team
- Working closely with Product Managers and the product team on requirements, issues, and acceptance criteria to ensure they are clear, complete, and testable
- Cooperating with our Regulatory Standards QA team to align on validated-use testing, ensure smooth handover between product QA and standards-focused QA, and provide input that supports design control and validation for standards such as ISO 13485
- Helping define and improve testing standards, processes, and tooling in the team
- Investigating defects, providing clear repro steps, and supporting root-cause analysis
- Monitoring test results in CI/CD and improving stability, speed, and signal-to-noise
- Partnering with Product and Design to ensure delivered increments match intent and customer needs
- Contributing to continuous improvement of product quality, release confidence, and team practices
Who You Are:
We are looking for a QA Engineer (minimum 3–5 years of experience) who is comfortable working in a product-led, cross-functional team. You should bring most of the following:
- Solid experience with development testing in a modern web application context
- Hands-on experience building automated end-to-end tests, ideally with Playwright and/or Cucumber (or similar tools)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated tests fit into them
- Strong ability to think in user flows, edge cases, and product risk
- Practical experience testing pull requests and working alongside engineers daily
- Confidence in writing clear, maintainable test cases and test documentation
- Good debugging skills and comfort digging into logs, data, and environments
- Ability to collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, Customer Success, and standards-focused QA
- B2B SaaS experience is a strong plus; domain expertise in pharma or compliance is not required
- Clear communicator who can balance speed with quality and help others do the same
What You Are Looking For:
A role where you can influence quality early, not just at the end. You want to work close to product decisions and engineering delivery, and you enjoy turning real user risks into automated coverage and better team habits.
You’ll join a fast-growing team with room to develop, whether you want to deepen your QA and automation expertise or grow into broader quality ownership. We offer a collaborative, low-hierarchy environment where you can improve how we build and ship software.
You like that your day-to-day work in testing and automation also contributes to design control and helps our customers meet their compliance and validation requirements, without you needing to manage regulatory documentation yourself.
Important Note:
As you submit your resume, be sure to also include a motivational cover letter in the PDF you upload. In the cover letter, let us know why you'd like to work for SimplerQMS and what you bring to the table as a QA Engineer. If you can also include a brief note on your most impactful testing or automation initiative, that’s a plus.
The hiring process will be a short intro call with the hiring manager, a practical case related to testing and automation, a conversation with the Engineering Team lead about your experience and the role, and (if you are among the final two candidates) a personality assessment.
We are reviewing applications and inviting candidates to interviews on an ongoing basis. If this role excites you, apply now. We’d love to hear from you.
