As a Student Lab Assistant in our R&D team, you’ll be hands-on in operating and optimizing our large-scale algae cultivation reactor at Novonesis in Kalundborg - a demonstration unit designed to showcase Algiecel’s breakthrough technology. You’ll also collaborate closely with our R&D team in Taastrup, assisting in monitoring, testing, and processing harvested material.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated, practical student who wants to develop skills in bioprocess operations, laboratory practice, and data handling - and make a real contribution to the future of climate-positive biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities
- Sampling and monitoring of the algae reactor (weekdays and weekends)
- Observing algae health and growth parameters
- Preparing media, performing cleaning (CIP) and biomass testing
- Recording, organizing, and processing operational data
- Supporting related processes such as harvesting, downstream processing, and shipping
Qualifications
- Currently studying as an operations-, process technician, or engineering student (min. 1 year left of studies)
- Experience working in laboratories – algae experience is a plus
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Danish is an advantage
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data handling)

Terms
- Part-time (10–12 hours per week)
- Flexible schedule: 3–4 weekdays (1–2 hours/day) and during cultivation periods on Saturdays and Sundays (1–2 hours/day)
- Location: Novonesis Kalundborg and 4–5 annual visits to Danish Technological Institute (DTI), Gregersensvej 1, DK-2630 Taastrup
- Reporting to: Production & Operations Manager (Kalundborg)
- Start date: 1 February 2026
