Currently, we are looking for a new
Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Business Partnering
(Director level), who will be the leader for financial planning and business partnering activities at Zealand Pharma. You will be focusing on general financial planning activities such as budgets and forecasts and engage the organization to steer financial performance particularly for our R&D programs. As our new Head of FP&A and Business Partnering, you will become a part of our Finance & Accounting leadership team, reporting to the VP Finance, and you will be managing a team of 3 associates.

Responsibilities
- Manage the team of FP&A specialists and Finance Business Partners, recruiting, coaching and developing key talents in the organization.
- Be part of the Finance leadership team, leading by example with a positive attitude and collaborating effectively with peers.
- Oversee the financial planning (budget, quarterly forecasts) process for Zealand Pharma as a whole.
- Oversee the month-end reporting, follow-up analyses and action planning to close performance gaps for Zealand Pharma as a whole, including scenario building and business steering.
- Ensure Departments and R&D projects benefit from effective co-piloting. Zealand Pharma is investing in the development of peptide-based drugs in the area of obesity, rare diseases and inflammation. You and your team will be business partner for R&D projects to manage and support their financial needs, including budgeting, month-end close activities, and strategic planning.
- Support strategic decision-making with thorough financial evaluations. Act as a trusted challenger, facilitating internal negotiations and providing valuable insights.
- Be the Finance lead for ESG matters, contributing to the company’s overall ESG journey and targets, as well as a successful Annual Report delivery.
- Contributing to optimizing internal processes to make life easier for ourselves and our colleagues, and embracing new technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function.
- Create compelling and storytelling business presentations to a non-finance audience.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings some years of relevant experience from a similar position and possesses a sound understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial processes, while having a good business acumen. You are digital savvy, as you will be promoting modern digital finance reporting tools.
You have proven stakeholder management skills, and you are comfortable working cross-functionally and being a trusted partner to the organization.
Finally, you shares the team’s values and displays the right ‘can do’ attitude, which is equally as important as experience and competencies.
Qualifications:
- Relevant educational background in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience in FP&A and Business Partnering, or management consulting.
- Leadership experience, with people management experience being a plus.
- Analytical mindset and a structured way of thinking.
- A pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Digital reporting tools such as Power BI is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
- English fluency written and spoken, Danish is a plus.
