Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated student assistant with a background in biotechnology, bioengineering, microbiology to support our R&D efforts. You will work closely with our two lead scientists in our in-house laboratory, assisting in the development and optimization of sustainable flavor ingredients. This is an ideal position for a student seeking practical lab experience and exposure to real-world biotechnological innovation in food systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day lab work, including preparation of media, buffers, and materials
- Assist with microbial and enzymatic fermentation experiments
- Help maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized lab environment
- Participate in sample collection, data entry, and documentation
- Collaborate with the R&D team on experimental design and execution
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- Enrolled second or third year in a bachelor’s program or first year in master’s program in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioengineering, or a related field
- Basic laboratory work, procedures and scientific methods
- Interest in fermentation, sustainability, and/or functional food ingredients
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Availability to work 10–15 hours per week
