Clinical Pharmacology is part of the Medical & Science department which currently consists of 11 Medical Experts and 7 Clinical Pharmacologists with diverse backgrounds. We are expanding the department to ensure we can support the obesity portfolio with our 2 products in clinical development moving into phase 2 and 3. In the role, you will be referring to the Head of Clinical Pharmacology, and you will contribute to clinical pharmacology and scientific aspects of one or more projects across all stages of clinical development. In addition, Zealand Pharma is undergoing a fast development with many near future opportunities depending on your experience and engagement. The position is based in our headquarter in Copenhagen area.
Responsibilities
In the position as Clinical Pharmacology scientist you will be responsible for contributing to the clinical and regulatory development plans and strategies for specific projects. You collaborate with the project teams to implement and execute the clinical plans according to applicable guidelines to ultimately support marketing authorizations. You will lead the cross-functional trial team together with a trial manager. You are responsible for the scientific content and strategic fit of the trial, and for ensuring the overall implementation of the trial plans from ideation to reporting. Zealand Pharma is working with a fully outsourced operating model utilizing CROs for the operational trial implementation. Your ability to lead and oversee complex operations is important.
Candidate profile
You have a life science education with a PhD or a strong scientific element.
- Experience from the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within early phase clinical pharmacology activities (4-5 years)
- Knowledge of trial designs within clinical pharmacology and clinical trial methodology
- Pending on the level of experience, the candidate may be part of a project core team
- Experience within one or more of obesity/metabolic/endocrine/inflammatory disease areas is an advantage
- Proven ability to drive and lead trial management/scientific project sub-teams towards results in a complex scientific field or in a pharmaceutical organization
- You must be able to work independently and actively contribute as a highly collaborative team player.
- You must have skills for project management and be able to get people on board in your team.
