Join BII’s Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) Ecosystem and turn groundbreaking life science research into successful startups through our Bio Studio program.
As an EiR, you will work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment, collaborating with leading scientists and industry experts to transform innovative ideas into independent companies. You will drive projects from ideation to spin-out, to become the CEO of the newly formed company.
The EiR Role
As an EiR, you will join the Bio Studio program, which aims to support early-stage research projects in becoming individual life science start-up companies within three years. Our ambition is to launch five projects annually across sciences within human and planetary health and to do so, BII sources innovative research from principal investigators and universities worldwide.
The Bio Studio projects will join BII and have a day-to-day work life at the premises of Copenhagen where the EiR has a crucial role in creating a solid team and culture ready for a new venture experience. Apart from creating your own team and culture you will also be collaborating closely with the Principal Investigator to create a solid scientific product with a strong market potential.
Key responsibilities as EiR include:
- Project Leadership: Drive projects from ideation to commercialization, developing strategy and project plans, setting milestones, managing budgets, and securing funding.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with researchers, investors, and industry partners.
- Team Development: Lead and mentor team to foster a strong entrepreneurial mindset and establish a culture for the new company.
- Idea Development: Collaborate with Principal Investigators and BII venture creators to identify high-potential opportunities and develop business strategies.
Professional & Personal Qualifications
Your professional background is defined by at least 10 years of experience within the life science sector, with a demonstrated ability to drive projects at the intersection of science and business.
You have proven experience in founding or building (early-stage) startups and possess a strong industry network with investors. You are passionate about creating impactful companies and bringing science to life.
Besides solid business development and project management skills, you also have strong people management experience, characterized by a collaborative approach uniting diverse teams. You see yourself as a natural motivator with strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to build trusted relationships with colleagues and stakeholders alike.
