Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Laboratory Technician at ExpreS2ion Biotechnologies in Hørsholm. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting quality control tests, utilizing analytical skills, operating laboratory equipment, and performing various laboratory tasks to support research and development projects.
In a modest size company we all help each other and your tasks may vary from week to week, but your focus will be on supporting the downstream department primarily with QC analysis and also other tasks within the general field of protein production, including:
- Support for development and production processes as well as process documentation (buffer preparation, DNA preparation, various analyses, documentation)
- Protein purification with column chromatography at lab scale.
- Managing project workflow to ensure on-time delivery: from initial planning, experiment execution to critical assessment of the data you generate.
Qualifications
You have at least 2 years of experience in research and development in industrial or academic settings and have proven the ability to properly document the work performed.
- Experience working as a Laboratory Technician
- Experience with analysis of proteins
- Quality Control and Analytical Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Skills proficiency
- Ability to follow strict laboratory safety protocols and procedures
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is a plus
- Proficiency in English is a requirement
You must have (or be willing to acquire):
- in-depth knowledge of column chromatography (e.g. ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, affinity and preparative gel filtration).
- Knowledge of Äkta chromatography systems and programming of Unicorn software.
- Knowledge of tangential flow filtration and other protein filtration techniques.
- Broad experience with various protein analysis techniques (such as Bradford, BCA, SDS-PAGE, HPLC-SEC, Immunoblotting, ELISA, DLS, CE, AUC).
- Practical experience with DNA cloning, analysis and preparation (agarose gel electrophoresis, restriction analysis, PCR)
- Grow E. coli cultures in shake flask or fermentation. Harvest and homogenize E. coli cultures.
