Do you get excited by designing security architecture? Do you have hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, AI platform governance, and building security into modern cloud and AI environments? If you are ready to shape how a leading biotech company secures its technology estate and define the security architecture for its AI platforms, then you could be our new colleague.
Your new position
As our new colleague, you will define and maintain the security architecture that underpins how Zealand Pharma builds, connects, and governs technology and AI. The role sits at the intersection of security engineering, data governance, and AI enablement – translating security principles into technical patterns the business can adopt. You will be the technical authority on our Microsoft 365 security stack including Purview and own the security architecture for our Claude Enterprise deployment and the emerging agentic AI landscape.
We Offer Exciting Responsibilities
- Define and maintain security architecture principles, reference architectures and standards – guiding technical teams across cloud, M365, AI platforms, and application development in applying them consistently, in close collaboration with cloud, lab, and on-premises infrastructure teams
- Own the security configuration and architecture of Microsoft Purview – data classification, sensitivity labelling, DLP policies, and information protection – driving adoption from current limited use to organization-wide coverage
- Lead the security architecture for Claude Enterprise and our agentic AI landscape (A2CP) – defining how AI agents authenticate, what they can access, how they are deployed securely, and what guardrails apply
- Embed security into the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) – defining security gates for DD&T projects, reviewing architectures for new systems and integrations, and ensuring security is built in from the start
- Contribute to identity and access decisions – reviewing access design for new systems and integrations, and advising on identity security principles in collaboration with the Cyber Security Specialist in Security Operations (SecOps)
- Act as the internal technical advisor on AI security – advising on shadow AI risk, agentic AI attack surfaces, MCP security patterns, and the governance of AI-generated content and outputs
- Collaborate with the Cyber Security Specialist in SecOps on detection architecture, threat modelling, and security tooling decisions across the technology estate
Your profile
As a person you are technically strong and able to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders. You balance security rigor with pragmatism – you know that architecture that isn’t adopted doesn’t protect anything. You are curious about emerging threats and technologies, particularly in the AI space, and you bring that curiosity into structured, actionable security decisions.
You have several years’ experience in security architecture or senior technical security role, preferably in a cloud-first environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview – data classification, sensitivity labelling, DLP policies, and information protection across M365
- Strong cloud security architecture skills, with depth in Microsoft Azure/M365 security tooling and a solid understanding of modern security design patterns
- Knowledge of AI platform security – including defining guardrails of large language model deployments, prompt injection risks, MCP security, and/or agentic AI architectures
- Knowledge of identity and access management concepts and their role in security architecture
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001/27002, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK)
- Comfortable using AI tools and services as a natural part of your daily workflow – and genuinely curious about securing them
Your new team
You will be part of the Digital, Data & Technology organization within the Cyber Security team, working closely with the Cyber Security Specialist in SecOps and GRC Specialist, and collaborating cross-functionally with DD&T, R&D, Legal, and People & Organization. The role carries real technical authority – you are the person the organization turns to for security architecture decisions, AI security questions, and Purview governance. You will report to the Head of Cyber Security.
