The position:
As IT Manager, you will play a hands-on role in leading and executing IT operations across the organization. This includes supporting our Denmark-based manufacturing and R&D teams, as well as enabling remote support for other functions at our US headquarters through an IT managed services provider. Success in this role will depend on clear, effective communication with colleagues both locally and across US-based teams.
Responsibilities also include:
- IT Infrastructure & Security Management
- Lead the integration of IT across the company to support success at all levels within the company, from individual requirements to department priorities and capabilities, to corporate-level business needs.
- Design, configure, and maintain network solutions (VLANs, firewalls, VPN) and structured cabling for multi-site operations.
- Manage and optimize Google Workspace services, ensuring secure and efficient collaboration.
- Oversee computer systems, data backups, and recovery strategies.
- Administer access controls and security systems, collaborating with others as needed.
- End-User Support & IT Operations
- Provide end-user support and training for hardware, software, and other IT-related needs.
- Streamline processes for employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring proper access management and data security.
- IT Vendor & Budget Management
- Work within budget constraints to select, negotiate, and manage IT vendor contracts.
- Assist other departments with their vendor needs for facilities, laboratory, and systems engineering.
- Collaboration & Specialized IT Support
- Ensure IT hardware and software considerations are integrated into planning for major projects and new systems, including R&D and tech transfer projects.
- Propose and implement appropriate IT infrastructure to support operations and facilitate data collection and analysis from systems that range in scale from lab to pilot to production
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering & R&D teams on specialized hardware/software requirements and support SCADA, Automation PLC, and database infrastructure.
- Facilitate collaboration between IT, Facilities, and Finance to support organizational success, alongside active involvement in the safety committee.
- Website & Digital Presence Management
- Manage and update the corporate website to maintain brand consistency and functionality.
- Support marketing efforts by managing the exchange of digital assets with vendors and partners and providing technical input on projects.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in production start-ups, operating in FOAK environments and first-time implementations.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, with knowledge of infrastructure planning and integration.
- Familiarity with SCADA, PLC programming, or similar industrial automation technologies is a plus.
- Technical Expertise
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Google Workspace administration.
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure, including VLANs, firewalls, VPN, and cabling.
- Experience with database management and automation systems,in a manufacturing environment.
