The role
As Supply Chain Manager, you will lead the end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and scalability across global operations. You will drive structured S&OP processes, strategic sourcing initiatives, and foster cross-functional collaboration to support R&D, production, and commercial objectives. A key part of this role involves transitioning leadership responsibilities from interim roles and actively shaping the future supply chain structure.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight & Planning
- Develop and implement a strategic sourcing model to mitigate supply risks and improve supplier performance.
- Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for instruments and consumables.
- Drive transparency and accountability across supply chain operations, both internally and externally.
Operational Management
- Oversee procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution activities globally.
- Ensure quality foundations are in place (e.g., product data in NAV, safety stock levels).
- Own and manage Sophion’s global inventory, including demo stock management.
Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement
- Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Collaborate with sister companies and internal stakeholders to align supply chain goals.
Performance & KPI Management
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, cost savings, and supplier quality.
- Implement procedures to measure delivery performance at customer sites.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead a team of 3 direct reports in Denmark and 1 indirect report in the US.
- Define clear roles and responsibilities within the supply chain team.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Support professional development and performance management across locations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management, ideally in a global or cross-functional setting.
- Expertise in demand planning and system utilization (e.g., ERP, NAV).
- Strong strategic thinking and operational execution capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and foster continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
Travel is required
Sophion have offices in Denmark, USA, Japan and China, and customers all over the world: Thus, this is an international role: You should expect to travel up to 40 days a year.
