As a Grant Manager, you will join a passionate team of six dedicated colleagues, all united by the ambition of incubating world-class life science and catalyze the commercialization of new solutions through start-ups by using our knowledge, network, funding, and infrastructure.
In the Program Management Team, we have gathered all the tasks and functions within designing and running the programs, entrepreneurship education, portfolio and impact reporting, and grant management.
You will play a key role in everything from setting up calls, administrating the internal and external due diligence process, and finalizing the board approvals. This also means that the Grant Manager will act as a point of contact for start-ups on eligibility criteria and as a point of contact for other external stakeholders involved in the application process. The grant manager will also play an important role internally, ensuring a seamless selection process.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Mainly responsible for the Grant Management of BioStudio Program, but other grants within BII will also be part of the everyday work
- Setting up the calls and running the application process and coordination. Responsible for all tasks related to the BioStudio grant management, e.g. grant letters, grant renewal, project onboarding and offboarding etc.
- Work closely with the Senior Grant Manager to oversee, optimize, and ensure high-quality processes related to BII’s open calls and funding, while also serving as mutual backups to ensure operational continuity
- Administer project governance, oversee projects and program budgets and portfolio review
- Ensure the appropriate documentation, budgeting and reporting of funding contracts
- Maintain BII’s grant management system
- Manage the external peer reviewers and due diligence partners related to the BioStudio grants including communication & coordination
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and support the wider organisation by applying expertise and knowledge within own field
- Manage different types of grants related to implementation and development of new initiatives
Professional & Personal Qualifications
We seek a colleague who is driven by purpose and motivated to contribute to a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing science to life. Ideally, you bring the following competencies and skills:
- Master’s degree in relevant field of experience (preferably within science, but not a requirement)
- Minimum 3 years of experience within grant and funding management (preferably from a philanthropic foundation or Venture Capital)
- A solid project and administration toolbox and proven experience
- Ability to independently drive processes and projects with an attention to detail, while ensuring quality assurance, applying best practices, and maintaining a solution-oriented mindset
- Experience in handling, optimizing, and implementing change
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential
- Proven ability to interact and communicate with both internal and external stakeholder
- Team player with great collaboration skills
