About the Role
We’re seeking a Financial Controller to join our Copenhagen office and play a key role in driving structure, compliance, and financial excellence as we continue to expand globally. You’ll oversee our Danish financial operations while supporting tax, audit, and reporting activities across Denmark, the UK (HMRC), and wider Europe.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility position that offers a rare blend of technical leadership, strategic collaboration, and purpose-driven impact.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead Controlling Activities
- Manage the full financial controlling process for subsidiaries — including bookkeeping, monthly close, annual reporting, and coordination of global bookkeeping teams.
- Own Audits & Compliance
- Lead both local statutory and group-level audits, ensuring smooth processes and strong partnerships with external auditors.
- Optimize Systems & Processes
- Evaluate and improve financial tools, controls, and workflows to support automation, scalability, and efficiency.
- Ensure Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely tax filings and full regulatory compliance in collaboration with local and international advisors (Denmark, UK, Europe).
- Document & Report Financials
- Maintain internal accounting policies, manage transfer pricing documentation, and review contracts for accounting impact.
- Support Cross-Functional Projects
- Collaborate on ad hoc financial initiatives with stakeholders across the business.
Your Profile
You are a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for bringing structure to complexity. You balance execution with strategic thinking and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
We imagine that you have:
- A relevant financial education (e.g., HD-R or cand.merc.aud.)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial controlling or accounting
- Strong knowledge of Danish GAAP and tax legislation
- Understanding of UK (HMRC), Finnish, and broader European tax frameworks (a plus)
- Experience leading audits and managing both monthly and annual close processes
- Solid skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Hands-on experience with Uniconta (preferred or strongly advantageous)
- Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
