Are you eager to use your skills and expertise in laboratory animal science?
We are seeking a veterinarian to join our team of five veterinarians in Pharmacology Research, as we are expanding the team. Our veterinary team supports both our Contract Research Organization (CRO) business as well as partnered/internal drug discovery projects. We promote a Culture of Care by delivering high-quality veterinary medical care to support the well-being of research animals and providing surgical expertise.
Pharmacology Research is a cross-functional area consisting of animal caretakers, laboratory technicians, veterinarians and scientists working with disease models in mice, rats and minipigs. Our scientific focus is primarily on metabolic and/or fibrotic diseases, including models of MASH, nephropathies, and obesity, but also include models within women’s health and muscle wasting.
Your Tasks
Your main task will be to participate in clinical veterinary duties, which include:
- Overseeing the health and well-being of our animals on a daily basis.
- Being an instrumental part of promoting a culture of care in our in vivo facility.
- Developing treatment plans and providing supportive care for animals.
- Performing euthanasia, routine gross necropsies and reports, and sample collections.
- Assisting with health monitoring within our facility.
In addition, you will provide veterinary and administrative support for:
- Regulatory requirements, including maintaining our AAALAC accreditation.
- Authoring written responses to costumer welfare assessments.
- Writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
Depending on your qualifications, you will have the opportunity to be part of our surgical team, which includes tasks related to anesthesia, surgeries, pre- and post-operative care.
Professional Qualifications
- You are a qualified veterinarian with Danish authorization (mandatory).
- FELASA course Function ABD certification is a requirement.
- Preferably, you have biomedicine differentiation as educational background.
- Previous work experience as veterinarian within Laboratory Animal Science is an advantage.
