Be our new (Senior/Lead) Clinical Biomarker Specialist in Medical & Science
Currently, we are looking for a (Senior/Lead) Clinical Biomarker Specialist who has a life science background and experience from clinical development in the pharmaceutical industry. The position is based in Søborg, Copenhagen.
You are an expert in biomarkers and their assessment. You understand drug development programs and the associated regulatory framework. Preferably you have a track record within obesity, endocrinology, metabolic disease areas or inflammatory disease areas. We are looking for a self-driven team-oriented colleague with the capability to informally lead cross-functional teams towards innovative solutions for delivering the highest standard clinical biomarker results for our drug development programs. We are around 350 people in Zealand Pharma involved in the full value chain of drug development and working closely together with external collaborators as well. It’s an exciting period for us, as we are growing to support our diverse project pipeline moving more candidates into later stage clinical development phases. Specifically, in the Medical & Science area we are 20 highly skilled Medical and Clinical Pharmacology experts as well as leaders, working across the full portfolio. In the role, you will be referring to the Head of Clinical Pharmacology, you will contribute to the biomarker strategy in projects across all stages of clinical development. In addition, Zealand Pharma is undergoing a fast development with many near future opportunities depending on your experience and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Create and guide clinical biomarker plans for selected projects, in close collaboration with the project teams in Research and Development
- Contribute to the trial protocols ensuring fit for purpose biomarker assessments in accordance with the strategy and the needs of the assigned drug development projects
- Oversee implementation and execution of biomarker plans in the projects
- Provide biomarker and assay subject matter expertise to the research teams, the clinical teams and the project teams as appropriate
- Contribute to the project related tasks on-time and with the highest quality
- Support the clinical team in creating and executing the clinical development plan with focus on the biomarker strategy and framework for the assigned project
- Work in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulatory plans/regulatory advice to ultimately support marketing authorizations
- Take responsibility for the clinical part of the company biomarker framework ensuring state of the art processes and capabilities in the field
Candidate profile
You will have most or all the below qualifications:
- Life science education is required, you have a PhD or equivalent
- Proven pharma experience with hands on experience with biomarker development and/or use in relation to clinical trials, development plans, clinical pharmacology trials or later stage trials
- Scientific experience within one or more of obesity/metabolic/endocrine/inflammatory disease areas is preferred
- Proven ability to drive and lead scientific project sub-teams towards results in a complex scientific field or in a pharmaceutical organization
- Experience from a specialist lead role or similar is an advantage
- Experience with regulatory affairs, regulatory agency meetings and drug registration is preferred
- You must be able to work independently and actively contribute as a highly collaborative team player
- You must have skills for project management and be able to get people on board in your team
