Loma Therapeutics is a pioneering pre-clinical stage biotech startup focusing on developing an HPV-targeted immunotherapy. In Loma Therapeutics, we aim to develop a best-in-class treatment to improve treatment options and patient outcomes for HPV-infected patients.
Your role as Scientist
As a scientist, your main role will be to support pre-clinical research activities in Loma Therapeutics both in-house and through collaborations with external partners. You will join our experienced research team developing Loma’s immunotherapy and you will be part of designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to support our translational research efforts. These studies include examining immune responses in mice, treatment effects in pre-clinical mouse models of HPV cancers as well as target validation in patient samples.
In Loma Therapeutics, you will be part of an exciting journey towards developing a novel targeted immunotherapy treatment for patients with HPV-related cancer and pre-cancer. This endeavor demands an open-minded, team-oriented approach and a readiness to tackle a diverse array of challenging tasks.
Generally, our goal is to operate within a flat organizational structure, fostering an environment where every team member contributes to shaping the company's direction.
This position is full-time (37 hours/week). Period of employment is 1 year.
Key Responsibilities
Your job will include
- Plan, execute and analyze in vitro and in vivo laboratory studies.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments in accordance with company standards (we will teach you).
- Contribute to scientific material including reports, presentations and any potential publications.
- General ad hoc and administrative tasks.
Key qualifications (need to have)
To qualify for this role, candidates need to have the following key qualifications:
- Hold a master’s degree within Life Sciences (e.g., biomedical sciences, biology, immunology, pharmaceutical sciences or a related field).
- EU Function ABD accreditation by FELASA (Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations) is required as the role includes in vivo work.
- Hands-on experience with mouse models, mammalian cell line culturing and flow cytometry.
Other qualifications (nice to have)
- Experience with qPCR, Western Blotting, RNA sequencing or histology is considered an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- An interest in the business aspects of biotech and in translating science from bench-to-bedside is a plus.
