Be the new IT Lab Systems Engineer

As the primary IT resource for our lab environment, you will work closely with our global IT team and report to the Senior Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations. Your expertise will be crucial in managing lab IT systems, ensuring data security, and providing exceptional support to our research teams. This role is based in Søborg, Denmark office.
Responsibilities
- Interface: Act as key interface between Research’s labs and the IT organization.
- System Management: Oversee the sourcing, installation, configuration, and maintenance of lab IT systems, including hardware, software in collaboration with Research and IT functions (Infrastructure & Security)
- Data Security: Work collaboratively with Research, Infrastructure, and Security to develop data retention, data security, and data restoration approaches for each system.
- Performance Monitoring: Work with the Infrastructure team to develop approaches for monitoring the performance of lab IT systems and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Inventory Management: Keeping track of lab IT assets, manage & document inventory, and planning for future IT needs together with the Research department.
- Vendor: Act as key responsible person for managing lab system vendors.
- User Training: Provide training and support to lab personnel on IT systems and best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure all lab IT systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Incident Management: Respond to and resolve IT incidents and issues in the lab environment promptly.
Candidate profile
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Lab IT systems, including hardware and software.
- Data Management: Skills in managing and securing large volumes of data, ensuring data integrity.
- Cybersecurity: Understanding of security risks related to working with Lab IT.
- Project Management: Capability to manage IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology implementations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to liaise with lab personnel and understand their IT needs.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast moving and complex lab environment.
- Technical understanding: Microsoft Active Directory, networking basics, patching, Windows operating systems, etc. a plus
- Best practices: Understand and implement systems according to industry best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues efficiently.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Documentation: Experience in creating and maintaining detailed documentation for IT systems and processes.
