About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to help us expand our software development capabilities as we see an increased demand from our clients for new software solutions. We are looking for candidates that can provide technical expertise and skills to the various projects of our clients but are also interested in helping us build up a thriving software development team where people can grow both professionally and personally. Among the latter, you will be involved in building reusable accelerators and establishing best practices for software development in our organisation based on our experiences from the various client projects.
Our team currently consists of 6 software developers with experience levels ranging between 6-8 years in one end and student developers in the other end. We have previously mostly been working with internal systems but are seeing a shift moving more to a mix of internal and external work. We hope to grow the team with 4-6 new members in the coming year to accommodate the increased need for our capabilities.
As a Senior Software Developer your responsibilities include:
- Work as a software developer on client projects, usually along one or more colleagues from BASE. We are currently working on a mix of data science and GenAI projects in the life science industry.
- Provide technical expertise in discussions with both the client’s technical and business representatives.
- Participate in defining and implementing best practices for software development in our organisation.
- Participate in growing the software development team in our organisation, defining a culture and vision for the team and the individual careers.

On top of this, you have the following competences:
- Software development using a statically typed language and Python.
- Experience in developing and maintaining a software repository.
- Experience in testing, debugging and troubleshooting code.
- Experience in building software in a serverless and/or cloud environment.
- Knowledge of version control using Git.
- Knowledge and experience in software delivery models, including CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions.
- Understanding of Agile working practices.
It will be a plus if you have these additional capabilities:
- Experience working in a client/vendor setup.
- Fluent in writing Python code.
- Experience working with containers (Docker).
- Experience with working in regulated environment (GxP).
- Understanding of the underlying LLM technology stack and/or experience in developing LLM-powered applications.
