Research Scientist to join BioInvent’s Immunology Team
At BioInvent, we are world experts on antibodies and tumor immunology, and we strive to develop first or best-in-class immuno-modulatory antibodies and antibody-based strategies to treat cancer; new drugs that have the potential to transform cancer treatment and the quality of life of cancer patients. At BioInvent we carry out all aspects of drug development, including preclinical research, manufacturing, and clinical development. Together we are creating an exciting future for patients, our company employees, and our investors.
We welcome you to be part of it – as a Research Scientist.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Scientist, you will be part of our engaging Research department and the Immunology team.
The team's main assignment is to characterize different target structures and antibodies against them and to validate their importance in cancer development, autoimmune disease or transplantation tolerance.
The current position is for an innovative scientist who will conduct research aiming at discovering and developing novel monoclonal antibodies to treat autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, and cancer.
Your key responsibilities will be to plan and conduct functional and phenotypic analysis of various target cells including myeloid cells, lymphocytes, and fibroblasts for identification of cellular mechanisms of action. You will set up and run functional cell based assays for selection of therapeutic lead antibodies, this will include analysis of proliferation, cytokine/chemokine production, cell signaling, ADCC, apoptosis, phagocytosis, receptor internalization, and ligand binding. You will, in collaboration with the in vivo and translational teams, design and conduct experiments addressing efficacy and toxicity and work with these teams on pharmacokinetic/dynamic and biomarker finding studies. To this end you should have experience with eukaryotic cell culture, isolation of immune cells from mouse and human tissue, advanced multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, western blot, analysis of cell signaling, as well as experience with in vivo immune experimentation, preferably in mouse models of cancer or inflammatory disease.
Other work includes appropriate documentation, writing of protocols, literature search as well as data analysis and communication to cross-functional teams and external collaborators.
Requirements
You hold a PhD degree in cell/molecular biology, immunology, cancer immunology or equivalent. You are highly skilled in cellular biology. Experience with cell-based assays, advanced multi-color flow cytometry and in vivo mouse work is a requirement. Experience from biotech/industry or postdoctoral training is a plus.
Qualities such as being highly flexible, having problem-solving skills, ability to work as part of a team, and a good understanding of biological processes are important to thrive in this position.
You are proficient in written and spoken English.
Skills and Capabilities
We are looking for a driven and creative scientist with strong organizational skills. We want you to have a strong desire to develop and learn, a positive attitude, and good communication and collaboration skills.
