We are seeking a Pilot Plant Technician
We are in the process of expanding the capacity of our in-house biotech pilot plant in Søborg. The pilot plant was inaugurated in April 2024; currently we are a team of 2 scientists and 2 technicians, and we are now ready to increase the size of the operating team.
The facility serves the green transition by helping our customers with process optimization and scale-up from lab to industrial scale. The pilot plant operates using different microbial hosts, interacting with different customers to service a wide variety of end-use applications. The facility operates under GMO class 1 and we are working towards food-grade conditions.
Job Summary
You will assist in maintaining and operating our pilot plant counting all relevant unit operation within biotechnology. The bioreactors are ranging from 30 to 1200L in size and generates fermentation broth for further processing, data for upscaling protocols and product samples.
Key contributions include:
- Clean, prepare and maintain equipment, supporting in troubleshooting during and after operation.
- Contribute in all steps of the fermentation process: media preparation, fermentation control and sampling, in collaboration with the associated scientist.
- Operate our wastewater treatment system as well as other auxiliary equipment.
- Record and keep accurate logs on process operations.
- Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols.
Requirements

We're looking for someone with the following profile:
- A Laboratory Technician or Process Operator degree with previous work experience in fermentation.
- Good computer skills.
- Not afraid to take initiative and likes to work with process equipment.
- Motivated by a dynamic workplace where projects and tasks are not static and there is a chance to contribute to new systems and workflows.
- Enjoys working in a team with highly motivated colleagues.
- Flexible – processes can sometimes require supervision outside of normal working hours and in weekends.
- Fluency in English.
