Role Overview
A fast-growing food and manufacturing business is expanding production at its Ansager facility and is strengthening the finance function to support operational excellence, disciplined cost control, and high-quality financial reporting.
The Finance & Manufacturing Controller will take full ownership of controlling for the manufacturing site while also contributing to corporate finance activities such as reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial insight generation. The role suits either a dedicated Plant/Manufacturing Controller profile or a broader Finance Controller with strong corporate capabilities (compensation aligned with profile and scope).
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on production environment and enjoys translating operational performance into clear financial insight and action.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Financial Control
- Lead the financial control function for the Ansager manufacturing site, ensuring accurate tracking of COGS, inventory accounting, and production cost variances.
- Prepare weekly and monthly manufacturing financial reports and KPIs for production leadership.
- Partner closely with operations, procurement, and production managers to analyze cost drivers and identify improvement opportunities.
- Oversee inventory valuation and production cost accounting, ensuring robust internal controls at site level.
Corporate Finance & Controlling
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including reporting, variance analysis, and preparation of insights.
- Contribute to budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial plans across the business.
- Support financial analysis for strategic decisions such as pricing, investments, and expansion initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and internal control requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive a shared understanding of financial performance.
- Communicate financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Support audit processes and maintain documentation for external auditors.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
- Typically 2–5+ years of experience in financial controlling, ideally within food production or manufacturing. Strong candidates with 2+ years of relevant manufacturing finance experience will be considered.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Comfortable working with ERP and finance systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical capability, structured problem-solving, and a track record of driving performance improvements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to support both plant stakeholders and corporate finance.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP implementations, finance process optimization, or multi-site reporting.
- Ability to operate confidently across both manufacturing operations and corporate finance disciplines.
