Research Scientist with CVD experience

We are looking for an experienced Research Scientist to join our large animal pharmacology team where we are dedicated to developing the medicines of tomorrow.
The position:
As a Research Scientist focused on CVD in the large animal pharmacology team you will be responsible for conducting pre-clinical in vivo pharmacology studies. These will include advanced surgical model induction, state-of-the-art medical imaging and biomarker endpoints which are directly translatable to the clinic. Therefore, you must have a good understanding of the disease models used within CVD research and preferably have hands-on experience with these. The ability to design and interpret in vivo pharmacology data is also crucial. The ideal candidate is structured and can handle many tasks and stakeholders at a time. You must have a dedicated and persistent attitude with an aim to succeed and deliver high-quality data.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and conducting large animal in vivo pharmacology studies with in the CVD area in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Execution and implementation of surgically induced disease models
- Molecular imaging of large animals like MRI, PET and SPECT/CT
- Participation in coordination tasks within the department and with other research areas of Minerva Imaging to ensure successfully executed studies
- Communication with external stakeholders (customers) orally and in writing
- Optimization of current methods and procedures with your passion for high-quality data
- Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting study results
Qualifications:
To succeed in the position, you should have
- A life science background at minimum Master level e.g., biology, veterinary science, or (molecular) biomedicine
- Some years of experience with in vivo pharmacology studies in large animals
- Experience working with pre-clinical CVD models
- Surgical experience in large animals is an advantage
- Experience with study conduction / project management
- Experience with medical imaging techniques is an advantage
- Flair for - and interest in - customer contact
- Highly collaborative skills since all projects rely heavily on teamwork
- Ability to thrive in a very dynamic environment, where plans can change quickly
- Diploma in laboratory animal science equivalent to FELASA category AD
