As a Technical Sales Specialist at Clair Scientific, you'll be responsible for building our sales function from the ground up and driving revenue for our novel automated microscopy platform. Your work will involve identifying prospects, understanding their needs, and closing deals. We need someone who can sell technical equipment, isn't afraid to pick up the phone, and wants to build a sales organization rather than inherit it. This is your opportunity to establish the sales foundation at Clair Scientific and directly shape how we grow as a company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the entire sales cycle from lead generation through contract closure
- Build and maintain relationships with researchers, lab managers, and procurement teams
- Attend trade shows and conferences to generate leads and gather market intelligence
- Develop sales processes, playbooks, and CRM systems as we scale
- Provide product feedback to engineering based on customer conversations
- Collaborate with the creation of sales materials and case studies
- Establish pricing strategies and negotiate deal terms
- Report directly to CEO on pipeline progress and market insights
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably selling technical equipment or instruments
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Comfortable explaining technical concepts to scientific customers
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and trade shows
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset
Nice to have:
- Experience selling to life science, biotech, or research institutions
- Experience building sales processes at early-stage companies
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or business
