At oasicare , we are committed to developing solutions that enhance the standard of care for women. Our first product is a single-unit device designed to reduce the risk of perineal tears, which we aim to market as a class I medical device. Currently, we are in the development stage and are running initial pilot tests at a Danish maternity ward.
The position
Oasicare is seeking a highly motivated R&D Engineer to drive the development and simulation of innovative maternal health devices. This role will focus on biomechanical modeling, computational simulations, and material analysis to optimize device performance and safety. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of medical device design, biomechanics, and bioengineering, ensuring our solutions align with clinical needs.
R&D Engineering responsibility;
- Develop finite element models (FEA) for fetal movement and perineal stress analysis.
- Optimize device materials, structure, and positioning for labor conditions.
- Conduct biomechanical testing and integrate findings into design improvements.
- Collaborate with clinicians and quality assurance teams to ensure product feasibility and compliance.
- Automate simulation workflows and data analysis.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, or a related field.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL or similar.
- Strong background in biomechanics, material science, and medical device engineering.
- Understanding of contact mechanics, nonlinear materials, and soft tissue modeling.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team involving clinicians, engineers, and regulatory specialists.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
