Reporting to the Head of Finance, the FP&A Director will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy and ensuring robust financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes. Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year financial models aligned with corporate objectives.
2. Management Reporting
- Prepare accurate and insightful financial reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors, highlighting key business drivers and variances.
3. Operational Analysis
- Partner with clinical, research, and administrative teams to analyze program-level spending, identify cost efficiencies, and provide actionable insights.
4. Scenario Modeling
- Create dynamic financial models to evaluate the impact of strategic decisions, such as funding new programs or expanding operations.
5. Cash Flow Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with program milestones and corporate strategy.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the clinical, preclinical and regulatory teams to ensure alignment of budget assumptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, preferably in the biotech, pharma, or life sciences sectors.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in financial modelling and data interpretation.
- Solid understanding of clinical trial financial planning, technical operations financial planning, and R&D tax credits
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets, including program and function-level financials.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, international team.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Additional Skills
- Familiarity with biotech R&D funding cycles, including clinical and pre-clinical program budgeting. Experience working with private equity, venture capital, or public markets (IPO experience is a plus).
