Karo is seeking an outstanding packaging artworker and print specialist to join our internal artwork production team. As Senior Production Artworker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality artwork files for our packaging that will be released to our print suppliers. This exciting role will be based in Maidenhead, London, focusing on our Foot Health Category, working across the brands to ensure design and print consistency, print standards and quality.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about print and design quality with consumer health experience. You will have the ability to independently manage and direct your time, ensuring our brand packaging is produced on time and in full. From day one, you will be hands-on, creating illustrations & artwork.
As Senior Production Artworker, you will work collaboratively with the Artwork Production Lead and Category Artwork Coordinators to develop the packaging and POS artworks for our brands. You will also work closely with other key stakeholders, including R&D operations packaging leads, brand managers, brand designers, supply leads, innovation managers, scientific affairs managers, and our manufacturers and print suppliers.
The role will cover Production and Operational responsibilities. These tasks and responsibilities will include:
Artwork Creation
- Transferring design intent files into artwork files
- Working within Adobe CC to create print ready files for handover to print suppliers
- Creation of Global Master Artworks
- Design roll-out across all SKUs and packaging range
- Creation / Adaptation for Local Artworks
- Great eye for detail and consistency
- A passion to create clean, high-quality artwork and illustrations
Packaging and Print Quality
- Creation of high-quality illustration and artwork files
- Manufacturer liaison for print quality across all print
- Working within printers print specification
Artwork Talent & Community
- Help to embed design collaboration to create a strong ‘Design Tribe' within Karo
- Help build design culture and inspiration for the whole business
- Knowledge share with other artists in the team, with focus on all team members working in the same way
Requirements
- Production artwork experience is essential (8+ years expertise)
- Expert in artwork production for various packaging formats, substrates, and printing techniques
- In-depth knowledge of design to artwork and print production
- Experienced in producing artwork for regulated sectors, ideally consumer healthcare
- A passion for print quality and the translation for design intent into production
- An excellent understanding of the design process
- An understanding of creating files for and operation of a GMG proofing printer
- Experienced in working with creative design managers
- Experienced in the transfer of design intent into print ready artwork
- In-depth knowledge of industry software (e.g. Adobe CC inc. Ai, Id, Psd, Esko, Artwork Management Systems (Karo uses GLAMS), etc.)
- Expert artwork and illustration design skills to create clean vector and graphic artwork
- Exceptional understanding of the print manufacturing processes and how to create artwork to for those print processes
- A great eye for colour, consistency and attention to detail
