For our office in Maidenhead, we are now hiring a full-time Logistics Financial Analyst which will be responsible for overseeing the financial and operational aspects of our logistics activities, which are outsourced to third-party providers. This role will focus on cost control, budget management, and ensuring the financial health of logistics operations. The Logistics Business Controller will work closely with Planning, Finance and Procurement to develop and implement strategies that optimize costs and improve efficiency.
Tasks And Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage logistics budgets, ensuring that spending aligns with financial forecasts and company goals.
- Analyse supply chain and logistics data to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining service quality.
- Monitor and analyse logistics costs, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory expenses
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present financial reports related to logistics performance, including variance analysis and forecasting
- Develop strategies to minimise costs without compromising service quality.
- Participate in contract negotiations with logistics providers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic logistics decisions.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls related to logistics activities
- Conduct periodic audits of logistics processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with most functions and teams throughout KAROs local and global teams (planning, finance, commercial etc)
- Own and manage master data for the Logistics department.
- Proactively establish relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and key Customers.
Requirements
- Academic degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, business controlling, or a similar role within the logistics or supply chain industry
- Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of logistics cost structures and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in software (e.g., SAP, IFS) and advanced Excel and Power BI skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in managing relationships with third-party logistics providers, experience with Amazon and understanding of the supply chain for E-commerce is a big plus.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics outsourcing models is preferred.
- Flexible and adaptable with an action oriented, proactive and analytical mindset.
- Independently manage problem solving and drive solutions in an effective and cost cautious way.
- Strong communication skills, assuring alignment with colleagues from various functions.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
