Biomarker Scientist to help drive translational research in the tumor microenvironment. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping the future of immunomodulatory cancer therapies, all while working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
Based on-site in our state-of-the-art laboratories in Rockville, Maryland, you will report directly to the VP of Precision Medicine & Biomarkers.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and executing research on the feasibility, optimization, and qualification of clinical biomarker assays across multiple clinical trials
- Performing hands-on tissue-based assays, including protocol development, assay optimization, validation, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring
- Analyzing and interpret results, conduct meta-analyses, and apply appropriate statistical methods
- Developing and applying bioinformatics pipelines to analyze complex biospecimen datasets.
- Serving as the in-house subject matter expert on the tumor microenvironment using Nanostring, scRNAseq, multiplex immunofluorescence, and IHC technologies.
- Collaborating with Clinical Operations, Data Science, and Preclinical teams, while contributing to corporate biomarker goals.
- Preparing technical reports, summaries, and presentations, and communicate results effectively.
- Drafting and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining accurate and complete electronic laboratory records in compliance with scientific and regulatory standards.
- Performing various duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications And Skills
- Ph.D. in immunology, cancer biology, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant biotech/pharma industry experience
- Strong expertise in scRNAseq, multiplex immunofluorescence, and/or spatial transcriptomics is essential
- Proven experience in bioinformatics, with proficiency in R or other programming languages, and ability to handle multi-modal, high-dimensional translational data
- Experience with HALO is a plus
- Prior industry experience in clinical biomarker analytical testing is preferred
- A collaborative team player with a positive, problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail
