Looking for your first finance seat next to a CEO — with a real path to CFO?
Our client is a profitable, investor-backed Danish life-science company that sells scientific instruments and consumables to pharma, biotech and academic labs worldwide. They have around 40 people in Denmark and abroad, they’re growing fast, and they work in English.
Today the CEO runs the numbers himself. They now need their first real finance leader to take over the reporting, sharpen it, and use it to challenge and steer the business. The role is built to grow into the CFO seat as the company scales.
What you’ll own
- Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, including the board pack, on a fixed calendar
- Budget, rolling forecasts and the three-year plan
- Revenue recognition across instrument sales, rentals, placements and consumables
- Invoicing, receivables and cash — and rethinking how it’s done
- A company KPI dashboard and monthly budget-versus-actual reviews with each manager
- Margin, pricing and working-capital analysis, plus business cases for the CEO and board
- The finance set-up of new international subsidiaries
- People administration: contracts, payroll coordination with external providers, and the annual review cycle
Who we’re looking for
- 4–8 years in finance, with a foundation in audit or a finance consultancy (Big 4 or mid-tier), ideally followed by advisory, transaction services or a first role in industry
- Solid Danish accounting knowledge, and you’ve closed books yourself
- Strong Excel and modelling; Navision/Business Central and Power BI are a plus
- Hands-on: you build the process, then you run it
- The authority to challenge management, and the appetite for it
- The ambition to become a CFO
- Fluent English (Danish not required)
