Evaxion Biotech is using their AI-Immunology™ platform for vaccine discovery and development to cure cancer and infectious diseases. We seek 1-2 student assistants with strong interest in the immunology area to join our research efforts in vaccine discovery & development starting August/September 2024.Evaxion Biotech is a Hørsholm-based TechBio company, discovering and developing ‘best in class’ vaccines for cancer and infectious diseases using cutting edge immunology, bioinformatics, and machine learning methods. The successful candidates will support our preclinical team in the development of new vaccines for indications with high unmet medical need.
Your role
Your main responsibility will be to monitor animals on weekends, assist in conducting experimental tasks on weekdays, primarily in animal studies for vaccine testing. Further, you will assist in processing tissue, analyze tissue samples as well as discuss the findings with project leaders. We estimate the monthly workload to be around 10-20 hours depending on internal need as well as what your own schedule allows.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting on experimental in vivo procedures such as vaccine preparation, immunization, tumor measurements or blood sampling
- Monitoring animal well-being (mainly on weekends)
- Data handling, analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Passed course in Laboratory Animal Science (FELASA) (mandatory)
- An understanding of immunological mechanisms is an advantage
- Scientific mindset and independent
- Systematic, thorough and organized
- Proactive, motivated and self-driven
Previous experience in animal research is an advantage but not essential as we have a team of scientists & animal technicians you will work together with who will support and guide the development of the required competences.
