Senior Commercial Lead – MedTech Startup
oasicare is looking for an entrepreneurial senior commercial lead to take our women’s health medical device from early clinical adoption to scalable commercial growth.
We are a Danish medtech company developing solutions to improve outcomes in vaginal birth. Our first product, ASISU, is a CE-marked medical device designed to reduce the risk of perineal tears during childbirth. We are already working with leading maternity wards and clinical partners and are now entering the next phase: turning clinical traction into hospital-wide adoption, commercial partnerships, and international growth.
The role
As senior commercial lead, you will own oasicare’s commercial strategy, market development, revenue delivery and commercial organisation.
Your initial mandate is to determine how the existing distributor, direct-to-hospital and consumer-driven opportunities should be combined and sequenced by market. You will then lead execution of the optimal strategy.
You will personally own critical customers, hospitals and distributor relationships, early commercial experiments and major negotiations while building the team and systems required for scale.
Subject to performance, company development and achievement of agreed commercial milestones, the role has the potential to develop into the position of Chief Commercial Officer following a structured evaluation, expected within 9–12 months.
Lead hospital and market adoption
- Build relationships with maternity wards, clinicians, hospital management, procurement teams and relevant professional organisations.
- Convert clinical interest into agreed implementation pathways, trained users, product availability, utilisation and recurring orders.
- Define the role hospitals play in each go-to-market model: customer, clinical adopter, service provider, access partner or demand enabler.
- Personally lead strategically important early accounts and partnerships.
Advance and activate a suitable distributor strategy
- Validate partner fit, commitment, commercial terms, evidence expectations, country access and launch capabilities.
- Negotiate, appoint, onboard and manage distributors in markets where this is the preferred route.
- Establish country plans, training, marketing support, order commitments and performance expectations.
- Measure partner performance through hospital access, activation, sales-through and adoption, not only distributor purchases.
Advance and activate consumer-funded, hospital-enabled model
- Design and test the end-to-end journey from consumer awareness and purchase to hospital acceptance and clinical use.
- Validate willingness to pay, pricing, acquisition cost, conversion, contribution margin, fulfilment and customer support.
- Establish practical onboarding and operating arrangements with participating hospitals and maternity wards.
- Ensure consumer communications, clinical education and promotional claims remain aligned with regulatory requirements and the available evidence.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a strong track record in medical devices or medtech commercialisation. Experience with women’s health markets is a plus, but not a requirement.
You should understand that selling a regulated healthcare product is very different from selling conventional products and services.
Ideally, you have:
- Significant commercial experience in medical devices, medtech or a closely related healthcare industry.
- Proven experience selling into hospitals and navigating clinical stakeholders, procurement and complex healthcare decision-making.
- A strong understanding of how regulatory requirements and clinical evidence shape commercialisation.
- Experience taking products from early clinical adoption to commercial sales.
- Experience with distributors and international market expansion.
- Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills.
- Experience in an entrepreneurial, scale-up or early commercial-stage environment.
- An analytical and structured approach to execution
How you work
We are looking for someone who combines commercial drive with humility and clinical credibility.
You are comfortable entering a hospital one day, working through a distributor agreement the next, and testing a new commercial assumption the day after.
You listen to clinicians and customers, challenge assumptions with data, and are willing to change direction when the evidence tells you to.
Most importantly, you want to build a commercial organisation around a product that has the potential to meaningfully improve care for women, so you are a natural-born leader others want to follow
