About Hemab
Hemab is building preventative treatments for serious, underserved bleeding disorders. These are therapies designed to work with the body's own biology and stop bleeds before they start, instead of treating them after they happen. We're patient-first, science-led and clinical-stage - with a pipeline that takes different scientific approaches to different patient needs.
We went public via our 2026 IPO, and we're scaling across two homes: Cambridge, MA, USA, and Copenhagen, Denmark.
The role
Every Hemab trial site starts with a signed contract. As our programmes move into larger, multinational studies in rare bleeding disorders, the speed and quality of site and vendor contracting directly determines when patients can enrol. You'll own that path: getting clinical trial agreements and budgets negotiated, signed and well managed so sites activate on time, and building the contracting processes Hemab will rely on as we scale.
What you'll do
- Own site contracting end to end for Hemab's clinical trials, including clinical trial agreements, site budgets, confidentiality agreements and amendments, so that sites activate on the timelines our study teams have committed to.
- Negotiate fair-market-value site budgets and payment terms across countries, landing agreements that sites will sign quickly and that hold up to audit and internal budget controls.
- Personally negotiate the difficult points, such as indemnity, subject injury, intellectual property, publication rights and data protection, instead of passing them on, and judge when a position is worth holding.
- Partner with Clinical Operations study teams to forecast contracting timelines, flag risks to first-patient-in early and agree on fixes before they turn into delays.
- Build Hemab's clinical contracting toolkit: agreement and budget templates, fallback-position playbooks, contract tracking and clear approval workflows that work across Copenhagen and Cambridge.
- Make sure every agreement meets GCP, data protection, transparency-reporting and anti-bribery requirements, working with Legal, Quality and Finance so our contracts are inspection-ready.
- Oversee contracting delegated to CROs and other vendors: set the standards, monitor performance, and negotiate work orders and change orders that protect budget and timelines.
What you'll bring to Hemab
- Substantial hands-on experience negotiating clinical trial agreements and site budgets directly with hospital and academic sites, at a pharma company, biotech or CRO.
- Working knowledge of the contract issues specific to clinical research (indemnity and insurance, subject injury, IP and publication rights, GDPR and HIPAA) and how they vary between countries.
- A track record of moving a portfolio of agreements to signature against site-activation deadlines, including unblocking stalled negotiations.
- Experience working in an ICH-GCP environment, including the compliance obligations that apply to site payments, such as transparency reporting and anti-corruption rules.
- The ability to prioritise competing requests and communicate clearly with study teams, legal counsel and site contract offices across time zones, explaining contract risk in plain terms.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Contracting experience in rare-disease or hematology trials, including specialist treatment centres that enroll small numbers of patients.
- Experience building contracting processes, templates or systems at a growing biotech.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management or CTMS tools, or with contracting for trials run under the EU Clinical Trials Regulation.
What to expect, honestly
Hemab is still building a lot of its own structure. Systems here tend to get created as we need them, not handed down in advance. Whoever takes this role will likely build some of their own process instead of inheriting a finished one. We work across two hubs and multiple time zones - bridging that well takes real, deliberate effort. And because we're growing quickly, priorities can shift with less notice than they would at a larger, more established company.
This is the actual shape of working somewhere at this stage: It's genuinely energising for the right person and genuinely frustrating for the wrong one. If you want a place where the operating manual is already written, this might not be it – but if you want to help write it, this might be exactly it.
Why Hemab
At Hemab, your work ultimately connects back to something simple. People living with serious bleeding disorders get something they've never had before - the chance to prevent a bleed, instead of reacting to one after it happens. You'll be joining at a stage where individual decisions still carry real weight, and where your work can help turn promising science into a preventative treatment that actually reaches patients.
How we treat our people is meant to be an extension of how we think about patients: with care, honesty, and respect. We're still building the consistency to back that up across every hiring process, every time. We'd say that plainly instead of pretending otherwise. If any part of your experience with us falls short of it, tell us.
Hemab builds balanced candidate slates and assesses everyone against a single standard. If you need a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the hiring process, please tell us.
