The CardioMetabolic Bridge is a pan-European initiative designed to transform early academic discoveries in cardiometabolic diseases into industry-ready therapeutic opportunities. It provides researchers with funding, infrastructure, and drug discovery expertise to advance projects from early concepts to in vivo proof of concept.
The program aims to strengthen European competitiveness by accelerating CMD innovation, supporting new ventures, and bringing novel therapies closer to patients.
As our new Student assistant you will in close collaboration with the Director, Principal, and Coordinator, support the CardioMetabolic Bridge (CMB) Team in our Science Development department with a wide range of tasks, providing opportunities to plan, execute, and engage with processes, promising science, and events.
You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a vibrant culture of venture creation and startups, working on a diverse range of tasks.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Be part of identifying and selecting our next projects by preparing materials for researchers, universities, and other partners as part of open calls and targeted scouting. You will also manage the input and output of our AI tools, ensuring consistency and version control, and help shape materials presented to our Strategic Advisory Group and BII’s Board of Directors.
- Help us build and maintain relationships across the European life science ecosystem, and bring events, visits, and Strategic Advisory Group meetings to life.
- Follow our projects as they progress, gathering reports to support progress reviews and milestone-based extensions. Over time, you will also help coordinate project board meetings.
- Keep timelines, CRM updates, and funding deadlines on track, and help ensure our CMB hubs stay connected.
- Support the coordination and distribution of NDAs, MoUs, and other legal documents with universities, project partners, peer reviewers, and Strategic Advisory Group members.
- Assist with travel arrangements for internal and external stakeholders.
Professional And Personal Qualifications
We seek a colleague who is driven by purpose and motivated to contribute to a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing science to life. Ideally, you bring the following competencies and skills:
- Is in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science-related field, or has recently started an MSc in BioEntrepreneurship at CBS, or a similar program with a focus on life science, innovation, business development, and entrepreneurship.
- Has strong communication skills and is proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Is a super-user of the MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, with a strong sense of visual design and the ability to create professional, engaging presentations.
- Is a team player who is proactive, energetic, and able to come up with new ideas, whil effectively collaborating with colleagues from diverse teams and backgrounds.
- Is service-minded, analytical, and detail-oriented, respects deadlines, and works in a structured manner while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, pan-European environment with multiple key stakeholders and several projects running in parallel.
The position requires 10–20 hours of on-site work per week, with flexibility to accommodate studies and exams.
