As we continue to grow, we're evolving into a platform-first, product-led, SaaS business. We're looking for a Director of Engineering to join our Technology leadership team in Copenhagen.
In this role, you'll lead the Engineering Managers and engineers in our client-facing product teams, helping them build and deliver high-quality digital health products. You'll create the structures, ways of working and engineering environment that enable teams to do their best work.
Working closely with the Director of Architecture and Platform Engineering, you'll ensure our product teams make the most of our shared platform while contributing improvements back to it. Together, you'll help scale an engineering organisation that balances client needs with long-term platform growth.
This is a leadership role with both strategic and operational impact. You'll stay close to the teams, supporting Engineering Managers, helping remove obstacles, and ensuring engineering remains a strong partner across Product, Design, Quality, Regulatory, Compliance and Commercial.
What will you be doing?
Software engineering is at the heart of everything we build.
As Director of Engineering, you'll lead Engineering Managers and engineers across Web, Backend, iOS, Android and other technical disciplines.
Your work spans three areas:
- Strategic: Shape engineering direction, organisational capability and our operating model.
- Tactical: Turn strategy into team structures, engineering practices and delivery plans.
- Operational: Support teams day to day by helping navigate delivery challenges, risks and cross-team collaboration.
Rather than leading from a distance, you'll work closely with Engineering Managers and partner with leaders across Product, Design, Platform Engineering, Cloud, Regulatory, Quality, Compliance and Commercial.
Your core areas of responsibility
Engineering leadership
You'll lead and support the Engineering Managers and engineers in our client-facing product teams.
You'll:
- Coach and develop Engineering Managers and support engineers in their growth.
- Create clear ownership, decision-making and team responsibilities.
- Support hiring, workforce planning and career development.
- Foster an inclusive culture built on trust, feedback and high engineering standards.
Delivery and operations
You'll strengthen the engineering contribution to predictable product delivery and reliable operations.
You'll:
- Help teams translate priorities into realistic engineering plans.
- Stay close to delivery, capacity, dependencies and technical risks.
- Ensure teams build high-quality software supported by strong testing practices.
- Join selected client discussions or escalations where engineering leadership adds value.
Operational ownership sits with our System Engineers and Service Managers. Your role is to ensure engineering teams provide the tooling, automation and technical quality that enable smooth releases and reliable operations.
You'll also:
- Partner closely with System Engineers and Service Managers.
- Help teams build strong monitoring, instrumentation and automated testing.
- Work with Cloud, Architecture and Compliance to improve reliability and resilience.
- Support planning for releases, upgrades and technical maintenance.
Platform and delivery collaboration
A key part of the role is helping our delivery teams and platform teams work seamlessly together.
You'll:
- Drive adoption of shared platform capabilities.
- Help teams decide when to configure, extend or contribute back rather than rebuild.
- Create strong feedback loops between delivery and platform teams.
- Balance short-term client needs with long-term scalability and maintainability.
Engineering systems and developer experience
You'll help create an engineering environment where teams can thrive.
You'll:
- Develop and evolve our engineering management framework.
- Improve developer experience across teams.
- Champion AI-enabled engineering practices that improve productivity, quality and collaboration.

You're an experienced engineering leader who combines strategic thinking with a practical, people-first leadership style. You enjoy working closely with teams, helping others succeed and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
You know how to balance delivery, quality and long-term technical health, and you're comfortable working across disciplines to achieve shared outcomes.

We're looking for someone who brings
- Significant experience leading engineering organisations.
- Experience managing Engineering Managers and engineering teams.
- A strong software engineering background.
- Experience working across platform and product or delivery teams.
- Experience building engineering frameworks, processes and ways of working.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience in a SaaS or platform-first organisation.
- Experience in Digital Health, Life Sciences, MedTech or another regulated industry.
- Experience scaling engineering organisations across multiple products.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
- Experience collaborating with Quality, Regulatory and Compliance teams.
