The Opportunity
Software development at Dawn Health is at the core of everything we do.
Within the first months of your employment, you will participate in training programs giving you the knowledge to develop digital health solutions (such as Medical Device Software).
Digital Health products can be Mobile- (iOS/Android), Web-, Backend- & Cloud-based applications intended to provide information used for diagnosis or therapeutic purposes for a medical disease.
In this role, you will contribute to our internal platform that powers our digital health products, and you will also work on client-facing projects built on top of that platform. All of our developers contribute to the platform, while a subset also work on client-facing products. This gives you variety, ownership, and a direct line of sight from foundational work to the products patients actually use.
As part of the mobile engineering team, you will be working closely together with a team of Product Designers, Software Engineers, System Engineers/Architects, Operations Managers, Regulatory/Quality Specialists and other functional groups to ensure the successful design and development of Digital Health/Medical Device Software solutions.
You will get to work on products that help patients around the world and collaborate with other passionate software engineers to bring the most intuitive and useful digital therapies and apps to life.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
As an iOS Developer, you will:
- Build high-quality iOS Apps using a modern tech stack.
- Contribute to the internal platform that powers our portfolio of digital health products.
- Work in close collaboration with the product and development team using agile workflows and best practices.
- Support our Business Development team with technical input and project estimations.
- Support our Project Managers in writing project specs and technical insight.
- Engage with continuous delivery workflows in rapid development cycles.
- Build and document architectures that are certified Medical Device software.

What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months)
- Onboarded and Medical Device aware. Completed Dawn Health's training programs and operate confidently within our quality and regulatory frameworks in day-to-day development.
- Shipping on the platform. Made well-reviewed contributions to our internal iOS platform, including at least one meaningful module, feature, or improvement that other teams build on top of.
- Delivering on client products. Owned iOS work in at least one client-facing project end-to-end, from design discussions through release, in close collaboration with product, design, and QA.
- Working with AI, not just talking about it. Integrated AI tools into your daily workflow (code, review, documentation, exploration) in ways that visibly improve your speed and quality. Sharing what works with the rest of the team.
- A dependable engineering partner. Designers, PMs, QA, and regulatory specialists see you as someone who communicates clearly, gives useful technical input early, and raises risks proactively.
- Raising the bar. Your code reviews are thoughtful, your architecture decisions are documented, and you actively contribute to the team's standards and shared knowledge.
About you
- Have 3+ years of experience working within the iOS ecosystem (Xcode, Swift, iOS SDK)
- Solid experience turning designs into requirements, thinking logically about the functionality to be built, and ensuring a high-quality end-product.
- Ability to adapt and implement solutions in different architectural patterns like MVC and MVVM.
- A solid grasp of the SOLID principles and a willingness to apply them in practice.
- Care about good UX and a willingness to engage in design discussions, with a working knowledge of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
- Ability and motivation to document System Designs, Architecture, Configurations on various levels of detail.
- Experience with git and git flows.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Nice-to-haves / Bonus points
- Experience with Android development.
- Experience with Composable architecture (TCA)
- Experience with Figma or related design tools.
- Experience with CI tools and setting up build and delivery pipelines.
