We are looking for a new systems engineer to join our team. You will play a key role in building solutions that improve patients’ lives and help shape the future of digital health. In this role, you will work closely with talented colleagues across disciplines – including software engineering, design, regulatory and client facing teams and collaborate with some of the world’s leading pharma companies.
Role Overview

As a systems engineer at Dawn Health, you will work on projects that power global pharma’s digital offerings, helping patients better manage their health and treatment journeys. This role is a perfect fit if you want to be hands-on in shaping system requirements, owning the verification process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a DevOps-driven environment.
As a systems engineer your main responsibilities will include:
- Working on both sides of the V-model, creating inputs for developers and verifying the outcome
- Supporting cross-functional teams through design, development, and continuous improvements
- Working closely with our project managers and product managers to ensure adherence to the project plan
- Collaborating with regulatory affairs to ensure that all system designs are in compliance with all relevant standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, IEC 27001) throughout the project lifecycle
What You’ll Do
Create design inputs to define the product
- Collaborate with product, development, and QA teams to define and document system and software requirements
- Create clear and precise software design specifications and user stories
- Ensure consistency between documented design inputs and the needs of the end user, in collaboration with designers and the product team
Verify and document the product
- Own and drive the verification process including creating and managing test plans, test cases and traceability matrices
- Execute tests according to the verification plan
- Participate in risk assessment and help identify solutions to improve system robustness and patient impact
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Collaborate with your team and contribute to continuous improvements
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, designers, architects and the rest of the team to ensure coherence across the product
- Continuously improve system engineering processes, tools, and best practices within the team
- Contribute to a friendly and open-minded team spirit
About You
You’re a person who enjoys connecting the dots between requirements, implementation, and verification. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving challenges together with your team. You don’t need decades of experience - we value curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to learn about the life sciences space.
Your background likely includes:
- Solid technical skills and experience within system engineering or similar roles
- Knowledgeable about requirements elicitation
- Understanding of software development processes and verification activities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- An interest in healthcare and making a positive impact on patients' lives
Nice-to-haves / Bonus points
- Experienced in Azure DevOps and the agile methodology
- Familiarity with working with various regulatory standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, or similar
- Knowledge about software risk management processes
