MATR Foods is a Danish food tech start-up on a mission to build a tastier, healthier and more sustainable future by changing the way we eat, through next generation fermented plant-based products. At MATR, we want to start a positive movement that brings people together around food that’s truly fit for the future.
We utilize nature’s own fungi fermentation to unify vegetables and legumes into natural and craveable food, for food lovers, by food lovers. We launched our first products in 2023 with great demand by consumers and customers, and now we’re entering the next stage of our journey with a full-scale production in our first of a kind factory build in Denmark and internationalization to Germany & Switzerland.
What you’ll be doing
- Internalize the accounting from currently external provider. Be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting activities for MATR Foods including general ledger, fixed assets, standard costing, accruals, and tax compliance
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure accuracy, also monitor accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, support management with timely reporting and Audits
- Contribute to implementation of new accounting and finance modules of ERP system (familiarity with systems such as ODOO, Netsuite, Business Central will be helpful)
- Improve processes in line with the requirements within a small sized CPG / manufacturing environment
What you’re bringing
- 5–7 years of accounting experience preferably in CPG / manufacturing industries
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of Danish GAAP / IFRS and tax regulations and proficiency in related systems/tools
- English and Danish language
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills, strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Additional preferences: Big four experience, Knowledge of German Language, German HGB
