At MATR, we want to start a positive movement that brings people together around food that’s truly fit for the future.
We utilize nature’s own fungi fermentation to unify vegetables and legumes into natural and craveable food, for food lovers, by food lovers. We launched our first products in 2023 with great demand by consumers and customers, and now we’re entering the next stage of our journey with a full-scale production in our first of a kind factory build in Denmark and internationalization to Germany & Switzerland.
What you’ll be doing
To support our exciting journey, we are looking for a Lead Financial Controller to join our Group Control team within the Finance function. Reporting to CFO, you will play a key part in shaping financial strategy and ensuring robust control processes that enable MATR Foods to deliver on its purpose. You will either be based onsite (in Ansager, Denmark) at our production facility or based in Copenhagen but visit the site on a regular basis. Key areas of performance include:
- Playing a pivotal role in creating standardized financial processes in our production plant and HQ
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly and annual financial closing and reporting
- Contributing in implementation of our new financial and ERP system onsite and within the Group
- Ensuring compliance with Danish GAAP and international accounting standards (local GAAP e.g. German HGB and IFRS) and lead the annual audit process
- Providing management reporting and analysis for the management and shareholders
- Conducting ad hoc analysis to identify performance drivers and assess risks
What you’re bringing
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial controlling, accounting or audit within a manufaturing based organisation (Big Four experience could be an advantage)
- Skilled in process design and improvement
- Familiarity with Supply Chain, performance management tools, data driven approach in complex system environments
- Experience with VAT and indirect tax accounting, and basic understanding of Transfer Pricing principles and documentation
- Knowledge of ERP / financial systems implementation process
- Fluent English, Danish and German is advantageous
