What you'll be doing
- Deliver accurate and timely payroll services for several Karo entities across Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the US (shadow payroll), and the UK.
- Own the full payroll cycle, from pre-payroll administration and controls to processing and post-payroll reporting.
- Oversee outsourced payroll providers, ensuring full compliance with local tax and labor laws.
- Report payroll data and metrics to internal and external stakeholders, including authorities, in a timely and compliant manner.
- Act as the subject-matter expert for payroll legislation and proactively share regulatory updates with key stakeholders.
- Manage pension and insurance processes across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, including invoice reconciliation and vendor oversight.
- Lead and maintain systems for Time & Attendance, travel/expense reporting (Skovik), and car leasing portals.
- Support training and knowledge sharing for managers and employees on payroll and expense processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Business Control, and Legal to streamline global payroll operations.
- Drive harmonization and scalability by developing global policies, process maps, and best practices for payroll and related services.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing global payroll operations in a complex, international business environment.
- Solid knowledge of payroll and tax legislation in multiple countries, ideally including Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and the US.
- Strong stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments and cultures.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems, expense platforms, and HRIS tools.
- Structured and detail-oriented, with a clear ability to manage compliance-heavy processes and deliver high-quality results.
- Fluent in English; additional Nordic language(s) are a plus.
- Relevant education and ideally certification in Payroll or a related field
