What we do
One of ten babies are born preterm and many of them need intensive care. As their lungs are not fully developed, they risk serious illnesses and complications that can lead to lifelong disabilities. At Neola Medical, we are developing an innovative medical technology device, Neola®, for non-invasive, continuous lung monitoring and real-time alerts of potentially life-threatening lung complications in preterm born babies. The technology aims to support earlier intervention, improve clinical decision-making, enhance long-term outcomes, and ultimately contribute to saving lives.
You will
Be part of our team developing a potentially lifesaving medical device for lung monitoring based on an advanced optical gas absorption measurement technology. You will take on the main responsibility to maintain and develop the overall hardware system design, including electronics, mechanics and optics. You will also be highly involved in both internal and external 3rd party testing, production transfer, establish and maintain suppliers and maintain tools for production and testing.
Your work is performed in accordance with medical device regulations and all work is documented according to our quality management system.
You are
We are looking for a driven colleague that possesses general technical understanding and good problem-solving skills. You should also be self-driven, taking responsibility and have the capability to switch between many different types of tasks.
- You have a M.Sc. in electrical engineering.
- You have experience of electronics design.
- You have experience of mechanical design.
- You have experience of verification towards the IEC 60601 standard family.
- You have experience of data evaluation using Python.
- You have knowledge of embedded software for real-time operating systems.
- You have knowledge of working with source version control such as Git, GitHub, GitLab.
- You have knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, MDR, FDA guidelines).
You can confidently apply a range of technical skills across various disciplines and exhibit a proactive, hands-on approach to your work.
You are also fluent in English, written and spoken.

Formal requirements
· You are from Sweden or hold a permanent work visa.
· You live in Skåne with the ability to commute to our office at Ideon Gateway in Lund.
