About the Role
Y-mAbs seeks a Director of Accounting. The Director will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial closing of the Company’s general ledger, which includes reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations, and underlying SOX controls. The primary focus will be on accounting and reporting for gross to net sales, inventory, and contract accounting related to the Company’s intellectual property licenses.
This position will also be responsible for technical accounting research (Accounting Standards and SEC Rules & Regulations), audit liaison, review of payroll, cash, and fixed asset reconciliations, assessment of accounting for legal matters, review of 10-Q/K disclosures, and Business Development opportunities.
There are also two direct reports to manage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Company’s monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Monthly reporting for US gross to net sales, including calculation of chargebacks, Medicaid accrual, distributors fees, and cash discounts.
- Review distribution partner royalty calculation and assess compliance under partnership agreements.
- Manage inventory accounting, including analysis of cost by batch, overhead allocation, supply chain management, business partner support, and annual physical inventory.
- Accounting for clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones for accrual treatment under the Company’s intellectual property licenses.
- Assess accounting implications for Business Development opportunities and provide recommendations during the contracting process.
- Review monthly general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and SOX documentation.
- Lead finance function process improvement and streamlining projects.
- Supervise transactional processing for payroll, cash, and fixed asset processing.
Key Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a background with progressive accounting experience, including public accounting. Other requirements include:
- Process-focused to streamline tasks while providing accurate financial deliverables.
- Seven-plus years of related experience, preferably in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting.
- A CPA with a Big Four background is preferred but not required.
- Business partnering.
- Ability to multi-task and focus on process improvement.
- Experience with BC365 general ledger module is a plus.
This is a hybrid role, and the successful candidate must be able to commute to Princeton, New Jersey, three days a week.
