Do you want to drive innovation and collaborate in an ever-evolving field of drug discovery?
If you are skilled in peptide synthesis and you like cross-disciplinary innovation performed in a highly cross-organizational and entrepreneurial setup, this role could be an excellent fit for you. In Gubra, you can look forward to seeing your efforts turned into tangible projects, partnerships and results. And you will do so in a fantastic environment where everyone wants to help and drive things forward.
Refine hits into lead compounds using our Machine Learning drug discovery platform.
As Senior Peptide Scientist, your focus will be on designing, innovating, and coordinating activities that drive our drug discovery projects forward using our Machine Learning (ML) guided drug discovery platform, streaMLine. Moreover, you will be optimizing and introducing new chemistries to the platform all the way from ideation to pre-clinical stages.
StreaMLine is a high-throughput tool designed to accelerate innovation by improving data management, thereby enhancing transparency and supporting more informed decision-making.
You will unfold your skills as part of project teams with specialist colleagues across computational drug discovery, molecular pharmacology, drug profiling, formulation and in vivo pharmacology. This also covers your close collaboration with your skilled Laboratory Technician colleagues that are eager to continuously improve our workflows.
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Coordinate studies and deliver peptides to support our Drug Discovery projects
- Design, execute, and optimize peptide syntheses
- Manage and innovate workflows for high throughput peptide synthesis and analysis
- Communicate results and discuss new findings
PhD within chemistry and/or peptide chemistry and industry drug discovery experience
As you will be part of an organization whose success rests on knowledge sharing and cross-organizational collaboration, you must be comfortable sharing your early stage ideas as well as receiving and providing constructive feedback. Equally important is it, that you can thrive in an ever-evolving organization. New strategies, new technologies, new ways of working. It’s all part of everyday life in Gubra.
Additionally, your resume comprises:
- A life science background at PhD level within chemistry and/or peptide chemistry
- Extensive experience with solid phase peptide synthesis and optimization
- Experience with early Drug Discovery in an industrial setting
- Motivation to integrate AI and ML into the workflow – AI/ML experience is not required
- An innovative and a collaborative mindset
Chemistry at Gubra – your new Team
You will join 4 Peptide Scientists and 5 Laboratory Technicians in the Chemistry department at Gubra HQ in Hørsholm, Greater Copenhagen. We work in a welcoming environment based on trust, helpfulness and a common desire to break new ground. Our focus is to expand our capabilities within peptide synthesis in order to create and run new projects that can result in partnerships. We do so by using our high throughput platform streaMLine to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a clinically ready candidate with balanced properties and strong IP protection.

About Gubra
Gubra is an ambitious contract research organisation (CRO) and biotech company striving for excellence at all levels. We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.
Gubra’s activities are focused on the early stages of drug development and are organised in two highly synergistic business areas: CRO Services and Discovery & Partnerships (D&P). We generate our revenue by performing research for life science companies as well as by partnering projects from our discovery and development pipeline.
Our therapeutic focus is within metabolic and fibrotic diseases, and we specialize in in vivo pharmacology, ex vivo assays, drug profiling, histology, stereology and whole brain and organ imaging. In addition, we offer a full palette of advanced transcriptomics. Our ML/AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform streaMLine enables us to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a non-clinical candidate ready for development. Through a constant focus on high quality, scientific excellence, speed, and solid teamwork we have established ourselves as a highly professional and competent partner in the market.
People are our greatest asset, and our team consists of +250 employees all located in Hørsholm, Denmark. The mix of people from different cultures and educational backgrounds combined with our entrepreneurial mindset have greatly impacted our working environment, which is characterized by entrepreneurial drive, scientific curiosity, and teamwork – we join forces!
