We are looking for a new Global Product Manager of Rare Disease – Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS) who has extensive Commercial experience leading across multiple functions with complementary expertise in marketing for rare diseases in the United States.

In collaboration with the commercial team, you will play a key role and be accountable for creating and supporting implementation of the product strategy and launch plans including but not limited to building disease and product marketing plans for patients and HCPs. Translating brand strategy into robust omnichannel engagement and patient support to optimize product onboarding and adherence. Drive tactical development and execution of branded materials including website content creation, promotional material development, patient education tools, congress planning and execution, agency management, HCP and patient market research, and promotional material review process. The initial focus is US but may also contain more global content, such as Europe and ROW.

The majority of the Product Manager’s time will be spent in the Copenhagen, DK office.
You will report to our Sr. Director, Head of Marketing SBS, who reports directly to the VP of Commercial.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of US HCP and COE landscape for SBS, with a view to support launch activities to ensure better patient support in this rare disease space
- Support the commercial team in the development of a global launch strategy and required pre-market development activities and market research
- Establish an HCP, Patient and Omnichannel brand plan with tactical elements in collaboration with cross-functional project teams within the organization.
- Identify market research requirements and lead projects with external partners
- Work with team members to maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the competitive environment and continuously assess potential impact on current markets.
- Support the commercial team in the development of a global launch strategy and required pre-market development activities and market research
- Represent the Commercial marketing function in project review committee meetings (MLR, joint project teams, field facing meetings).
- Presenting to and training field staff.
- Review and analyze market & sales data objectively to highlight opportunities and risks.
- In collaboration with the Sr. Director, maintain budget responsibilities and aid in preparation of yearly budget.
- Work with team members to maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the competitive environment and continuously assess potential impact on current markets.
Candidate profile
- Degree in life sciences or business; advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA).
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with 5+ years of Commercial experience across multiple functions.
- Solid understanding of US marketing, including promotional regulatory environment
- Rare disease experience including patient and omnichannel strategy development and tactical pull through
- Recognized leadership skills in direct and matrixed environments and the ability to align different parts of the organization to enable effective decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to metabolize high-level strategic thinking into detailed operational implementation. This position will be called on to pivot between various commercial workstreams depending on the current business environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in effective communication, influencing, and negotiation for a wide variety of audiences.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with project team members and executives and demonstrate the ability to assimilate and apply new knowledge rapidly.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills a must.

About Short Bowel Syndrome – Intestinal Failure
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a complex disease that occurs due to the physical loss of half or more of the small intestine, most often due to surgical removal. As a result, individuals with SBS often have a reduced ability to absorb nutrients and fluids. In more severe cases, referred to as SBS with intestinal failure (SBS-IF), patients are dependent on complex parenteral support (PS) to sustain life. PS is a way to receive nutrients by bypassing the digestive system through an intravenous catheter.
SBS with intestinal failure is associated with significant medical complications, including liver and renal failure, metabolic complications, chronic fatigue, and life-threatening infections. Although lifesaving, management of PS is associated with a significant burden on healthcare systems and reduction in quality of life for patients and their families.
